Blinn Alumni and Friends and Alumni Lettermen raise record $146,000 at Clay Shootout
Alumni and Friends, Lettermen hold annual fundraiser for scholarships, equipment

The 2025 Blinn College Clay Shootout set a record by raising $146,000 for academic scholarships and athletic equipment.
The Blinn College Alumni and Friends and Buccaneer Alumni Lettermen associations recently hosted this year’s Clay Shootout at the Boswell Porter 4-H Shotgun Range in Burleson County.
The previous record for the Shootout, Blinn's largest fundraiser, was $138,000 in 2024.
“We’re thrilled to share that this year’s Clay Shootout was a record-breaking success, raising more funds than ever before,” said Hannah Jenkins, Chair of the Alumni and Friends Board of Directors. “Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors, participants, and volunteers, we surpassed all expectations and set a new benchmark for what this event can achieve.
“The energy was high, the competition was fierce, and the support from our community was truly inspiring. We could not be more grateful to everyone who made it possible.”
“An event like the Shootout takes a lot of support from volunteers, sponsors, donors, and participants,” said Kevin Bosse, Chair of Buccaneer Alumni Lettermen. “We simply couldn’t do it without them, and we thank them all.”
Schaefer Custom Homes was the platinum underwriter. Brenham National Bank, Blue Bell Creameries, Horizon Grass Farms, and Texas KB Utilities were silver sponsors. Paragon Financial Advisors and Aggieland Construction were raffle sponsors.
Winners were:
- Teams – First, Kenjura Tile; second, Plumb Level; third, Spaw Glass.
- Overall individual winners – First place in the male division, Landon Benson; first place female division, Haylyn Hanks; first place youth, Kathelyn Bond; second place males, Heath Garrett; second place females, Kathelyn Bond.
- Flight individual winners – Flight One: first, Jorge Garza; second, Hunter Schurtleff; third, Sam Lawhon. Flight Two: first, Landon Benson; second, Justin Hejl; third, Phil Goynes. Flight Three: first, Heath Garrett; second, Landon Benson; third, Donnie Landers.
