  • Distinguished Chapter Officer Team Award: The entire officer team was honored for their collective contributions.
  • Award of Merit – College Project: The chapter’s initiative, Turning Students to Active Citizenship, earned recognition for its voter registration efforts on the Bryan and RELLIS campuses.
  • Award of Distinction – Honors in Action Project: Fighting the Good Fight: Combating Misinformation in the 2024 Election Cycle was recognized for its impact. The project included a presidential debate watch party aimed at addressing election-related misinformation.
  • Hall of Honor for Advisors: Advisors Emily Erdmann and Rachel Valentine were celebrated for their outstanding mentorship.

The Beta Alpha Chapter, which serves the Brenham, Sealy, and Schulenburg campuses, also earned top honors:

  • Award of Merit – College Project: Recognized for their dedication to academic and community engagement.
  • Outstanding Officer Award: Chapter officer Parker Herron received this accolade for exemplary leadership.
  • Horizon Award for Advisors: Dillon Phipps and Sophia Polk were recognized for their commitment to student success.

Both chapters were recognized as Five Star Chapters, the highest distinction in PTK’s Five Star Chapter Plan, which encourages engagement in regional and international PTK programs.

“These awards are a testament to the dedication of our students, advisors, and campus communities,” Valentine said. “We are incredibly proud of our PTK chapters and their continued commitment to scholarship, leadership, and service.”

Phi Theta Kappa is the premier honor society recognizing academic achievement among students at two-year colleges. Through leadership development, service projects, and scholarly activities, PTK members gain valuable experience that helps them succeed in their academic and professional careers.
