The Blinn College District wraps up its 2024-25 Performing Arts Series with the dynamic, toe-tapping rhythms of Phat Cat Swinger’s “The Wonderful World of Swing” at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 13.

Inspired by Disney’s iconic music library, Phat Cat Swinger’s talented musicians and arrangers bring new life to beloved classics. The show features energetic interpretations of timeless Disney songs, including favorites such as “Be Our Guest,” “You’ve Got a Friend In Me,” “Let’s Go Fly a Kite,” “Bare Necessities,” “Kiss the Girl,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” “Once Upon a Dream,” “Friend Like Me,” “Sally’s Song,” and themes from “Up.”

Led by founder Marco Palos, Phat Cat Swinger is an 11-piece "little-big band" renowned for redefining the Golden Era of swing music. With performances at Disneyland Resort stages and beyond, this electrifying ensemble masterfully blends classic swing, jazz, and rock with modern pop sensibilities, echoing the style of legends like Frank Sinatra and contemporary stars such as Michael Bublé and Bruno Mars, infused with the spirited sounds of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Brian Setzer.

The curtain rises at the Dr. W.W. O’Donnell Performing Arts Center, located at 600 Blinn Boulevard on the Blinn College-Brenham Campus. Tickets are $40 and available at www.blinn.edu/boxoffice or by calling 979-830-4024. Special pre-show receptions are offered for $15 per person and can be reserved up to five days before the performance.

Phat Cat Swinger closes a memorable Performing Arts Series season that began with “Feelin’ Good (The Ultimate Michael Bublé Experience)” in October, followed by “Resurrection: A Journey Tribute” in November and “Celtic Angels Ireland” in March.
