175-hour course begins June 2 and offers NCCER Level 1 certification

Following a full-capacity class last fall, the Blinn College-Schulenburg Campus is once again offering its highly popular, non-credit heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) certification course this summer. With limited seats available, Blinn College officials strongly encourage students to register as soon as possible to secure their spot before the class fills up.
The 175-hour course allows students the opportunity to earn National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Core and HVAC Level I certifications. Students must pass the certification exams to earn these industry-recognized credentials, which open doors to lucrative HVAC job opportunities nationwide.
Classes will be held Mondays through Thursdays, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 2 through Aug. 21. The course is designed to equip students with the essential skills to meet the growing demand for HVAC technicians.
“Our fall class reached full capacity, highlighting the strong demand for HVAC training in our community,” said Dr. Becky Garlick, Executive Dean of the Schulenburg Campus. “We expect this summer’s course to fill quickly as well, so we encourage anyone interested to register as soon as possible. This program provides an outstanding opportunity for individuals to enter a high-demand industry with valuable, nationally recognized certifications.”
The NCCER is renowned for its comprehensive training and credentialing programs, which span over 60 craft areas, including HVAC. The organization's standardized curriculum ensures that students receive top-quality education that meets the leading industry standards.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median pay for HVAC mechanics and installers is $57,300. This course is $1,499, with potential scholarship funding available.
